This page explains how I handle the personal data you share when you contact me through this website.

Who is responsible
Herbst AI is a sole trader business run by me, Mike Herbst. I am responsible for the personal data described here, and I am the one who handles your details.

What I collect
When you use the contact form or email me, I receive the details you choose to share. That is your name, your email address, your company or organisation if you add it, how often the task happens and your description of the task.
Please do not include sensitive personal data, or details about other people, in your description.
Why I use it
I use your details to reply to you, to understand the task and, if you want, to prepare a proposal.
The legal basis is steps you ask for before a possible agreement (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR). Where that does not apply, it is my legitimate interest in answering questions about my services (Article 6(1)(f)).
I do not use your details for marketing, and I never sell them.
Who else handles it
The contact form is delivered by Netlify, which stores the message on my behalf. It also receives technical details, such as your IP address, and uses them to filter spam. My email provider stores the messages I receive.
I choose providers that store data in the EU or EEA, or that protect transfers with an adequacy decision or the EU standard contractual clauses.
How long I keep it
If we do not start working together, I delete your enquiry and our emails within 12 months of our last contact.
If we do work together, I keep what the project needs. Invoices and accounting records are kept for as long as Swedish accounting law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data I have about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. You can also object to how I use it, ask me to limit its use or ask for a copy in a common format.
Write to mike@herbstai.com. I reply within one month.
If you think I handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) at imy.se.
Cookies and tracking
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. The fonts are served from the site itself. The fit check and the calculator run in your browser, and nothing from them is sent or stored.
The site is hosted by Netlify. The host may keep short technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure.
Changes
If I change how I handle personal data, I update this page and the date at the top.
